The trend in today's consumer video cameras is to store the captured video on memory cards instead of tape. Lexar Media has a new line of memory cards designed for video cameras called the Lexar Full-HD video memory cards. The cards are available in Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) as well as Memory Stick PRO Duo in high capacities with fast transfer speeds. They are designed to capture extended as well as standard and high definition 1080 resolution video.Users will like the high-speed transfer abilities of the cards when downloading to a computer. Once the data is downloaded and backed up, the cards can be erased and reused. The memory sticks come in 4GB ($34.99) and 8GB ($49.99) capacities, good for respectively recording up to 90 and 180 minutes. The SDHC cards are available in 4GB ($29.99) and 8GB ($49.99) sizes but also offer a 16GB ($89.99) capacity. They are good for recording 90, 180, and 360 minutes of video respectively. The cards work just as well in still digital cameras, offering the same storage sizes as well as the fast download speeds.
